Highland Coffees

More coffee shops need to be open in the evenings. I say this as someone who would love to grab a coffee after work on the nights that I don't have kiddo. A good coffee, good pastry, good book, and good people watching should not just be reserved for the mornings. So, one day after work, I went to grab a bite to eat near campus so I could have an evening coffee for dessert at Highland Coffees.

Proof that this was an evening coffee

If there was any more proof that coffee shops should stay open later, it was how many people were at Highland Coffees when I got there. It wasn't super late, maybe 6:30ish, but this place was pretty packed. After I walked in, there were about 5 people who walked in after me, so I slightly order panicked and did not get a pastry. (Missed opportunity) However, this was the first coffee shop I've been to that asked me what kind of espresso I wanted (dark, please!) which I appreciated. In fact, I think this is what made me enjoy this latte the most out of the ones I've had so far.

It was pretty packed in Highland Coffees, so I opted to enjoy my latte in the adorable courtyard area. While I'm sure this courtyard is amazing during the day, I have to admit I found it almost magical at night. See for yourself...

Like a scene from a movie

I can see many more trips to Highland Coffees in my future. Have you been? If so, what pastry do you recommend? Also, now that I've been once, it's time to expand my drink selection. Should I get something besides a latte? Stick around for more coffee updates!
