As promised, the second installment in my local food truck love goes to Chicky Sandos. When I lived in Nashville, all everyone talked about was hot chicken. The hotter the hot chicken, the better. To hear people brag about how they couldn't taste for the rest of the day or how much milk they had to drink after, made it seem like not a fun dining experience to me. Once people found out I was from Louisiana, they felt like I would love it, and wanted me to instantly go for the hottest level of hot chicken.
Your girl never got the hottest level because she wants to actually enjoy the food she is eating. But I do enjoy a little kick to my chicken and once I discovered Chicky Sandos, I knew I had to try it. However, being on the side of town they are based at hardly ever happens for me. But Andy's Frozen Custard, who just opened not too far from me, brought them in one Tuesday and I was hooked. The next Tuesday? I had to get the whole family in on it.
There are 3 things on the menu, so it's pretty straight forward and simple. (1) The Sando, which is their chicken sandwich; (2) Hot Box Combo, which is two jumbo chicken strips and fries; and (3) Chicky Fries, seasoned waffle fries topped with cheese, chicken bits and Sando sauce. The Chicky Fries are my personal favorite.
Have you tried them out yet? If so, what's your go-to order?
