Has It Been That Long?

Wow, Hungry Peeps, life came at the Hungry fam pretty fast this month and all of my good intentions to update this blog but I failed. What I did not fail in, was enjoying some delicious food! Here’s a quick snapshot of some of the things we’ve been enjoying.

Donuts

We’ve been eating our way through the Baton Rouge Donut Trail, found on OnlyInYourState.com, and we’re almost close to completing it. There will be a full recap once we knock off these last 2 stops, but here are a few pics to highlight.

New-ish Restaurants

SoLou

I finally broke down and made a reservation for one at SoLou, and it was an even better experience than I could have imagined. The servers were so friendly and never made me feel rushed (They put me at a larger table than I reserved because there wasn’t any smaller ones at my reservation time.) The food was delicious, and you get pork skins to start your meal and cotton candy to finish. Y’all know the Hungry Fam loves the extras!

Bldg 5

I convinced one of my friends to try out Bldg 5 with my for happy hour after work one day. We stuck to appetizers and desserts only, and we felt like we had a full meal. Their boards all looked amazing, but we couldn’t justify one for just the two of us. I also ordered one of their seasonal lemonades and it was so refreshing!

Jovi’s Tacos

The Hungry Fam finally tried Jovi’s Tacos at the recommendation of one of my co-workers and our families love of homemade tortillas. It did not disappoint, and my co-worker neglected to tell me that one taco was big enough to be a meal, so you don’t need to order multiple or extra food.

 New To Me Restaurant

Beausoleil

Got a promotion at work this month and wanted to take myself out for a “nicer than normal to me” dinner. After driving around the city and sitting in 4 parking lots and telling myself those places were “too nice”, I ended up here and this lobster roll definitely hit the spot.

Revisits to Old Favorites

Rocca Pizzeria

I’ve mentioned it before, the Hungry Fam loves a good deal. Half-priced pizzas during happy hour, made it easy to head back to Rocca when I had a night to myself.

Rock N Roll Sushi

Kiddo and I really like this place. We scored a 225 Best Eats deal and made a trip back. We split the Boom Boom Shrimp appetizer and three rolls and were stuffed...until we got home and our dessert stomachs kicked it into high gear.

Sorry for going MIA, Hungry Peeps. I promise the schedule will get back on track next month. Drop me some of your favorite places around town to get our tastebuds ready for some more adventures!
