Side Quests: Main Character Energy

About a year ago, I was targeted with an ad for the Hero's Journal. Essentially, it makers your journal more like a quest that you are following along with. The art work is pretty cool, but I haven't been able to make myself pull the trigger on buying one of their journals or planners. However, I did purchase decks of side quest cards for kiddo and myself for Christmas.

Each deck comes with 52 side quests. Kiddo and I have decided that Wednesday is the day that we each draw a quest from our decks. Sometimes we will do both of our quests, sometimes we will do one, but our goal is to do at least one of these quests each week.

On my 2025 Bingo Card, I put completing 30 of these as my goal for the year. I bought these decks of cards and added this goal to remind myself to give off main character energy in 2025. Sometimes I need a little help getting out of my comfort zone, and I'm thinking these cards might help push me forward.

Some of these quests are fun and bring joy, like have your favorite meal or go on a nature walk. Some of these quests are to bring about some self reflection, like spend 5 minutes in silent reflection or look in the mirror and say your great qualities out loud. Some bring self improvement, like bake something or watch a documentary. (All of these are from my actual deck of side quests)

The goal of these side quests is to fill accomplished and help break up the monotony that I tend to fall into with my life. Just a little taste, my favorite side quest so far as been one from kiddo's deck.

But I couldn't just stop there, oh no, I had to take it just a step farther. Let me introduce you to One DiRocktion. Kiddo wasn't amused with my rock band, but it does bring me joy whenever I look at them, so mission accomplished.
