Snow Days?

Snow in the forecast. They said some areas could see 3-8 inches of snow. I didn't believe them. I thought we might get some flurries, maybe an inch would stick. I was wrong. We had about 6 inches at my house and it's landed me about a week off of work.

That's what happens when you live somewhere that this maybe happens once every 10 years so you don't have things to salt the road and do all the things that make it safe to drive while this melts and freezes. (Did I mention temps got down to 11 degrees? Insane for these parts!)

So have I been productive during these days and unpacked boxes that are still all over from our move? Absolutely not.

I've spent my time watching reruns of Castle on Hulu, reading books on the Kindle app, drinking lots of coffee, and playing Domino Dreams like I'm going pro.

We also went outside and played in the snow. Snow ball fights, snow angels, snow man attempts, making snow ice cream ...yea, we checked all those off the lists.

Kiddo refused to take pictures, so I grabbed a couple of her Pokemon to document the occasion. Bulbasaur and Squirtle liked the snow for a hot minute until they remembered they were grass and water types, respectively, and demanded to go inside. If stuffed animals could talk, of course.

While I watch the snow melt off the road and sidewalk through my window, I am proud that I was able to resists the temptation of the targeted ads I got on social media while I was bundled up in my house. That revolving bookcase from Temu almost got me, but I stayed strong.

Here's to one thing that should have been on my dumpster fire bingo card, but was so out of the realm of possibility in my mind that I didn't think to include it.
