What I Ate: NOLA Edition

Since I started trying to keep up with a blog based on food, it wouldn't make sense for me not to incorporate some posts about what I've been eating, especially since I promised some comments on my NOLA adventures. So here's a quick recap of what I ate, NOLA edition.

I'm going to start this post by saying that I didn't really adventure too far, so everything that I ate is within walking distance of the hotel. The farthest one was about 1.25 miles round trip, but that's because I was trying to keep an eye on the clock to make sure I wasn't late for the times I had to pick up kiddo.

Auntie Anne's

First stop on our dining adventures was lunch at the River Walk Outlets. I have been wanting one of these sip and dips since I saw they were a thing, but never go to a mall. Since we were at one, I HAD to have one. It's genius! Clearly, I am not the only one who complained about not being able to enjoy my pretzel bites and drink while walking. Kiddo wasn't as impressed as I was. Whoever came up with this deserves a raise.

Rock N Roll Sushi

Kiddo and I were devastated when the one in Baton Rouge closed. It was our go to sushi spot. Since there was one in the River Walk food court, it was a no brainer for us. I got the VIP roll which has all of the best things in it: shrimp tempura, krab meat, cream cheese, crawfish, jalapenos, spicy mayo ... perfection.

Gospel Coffee & Boozy Treats

When I googled "coffee shops near me", this one came up and it did not disappoint. I had the best flat white I've ever had and a delicious mini-king cake. For those who would like to partake, you can add a shot of liquor to your coffee of choice as well. It's located inside a hotel, and the vibes were quite hipster chic.

Ernst Cafe

Sometimes the appetizers are more appealing than the entrees to me. After much debate, I settled on the Southwest Eggrolls and they were amazing. All the spicy goodness you would expect and better than Chili's, which are still top notch/

Batter A Bakery

This was the cutest Barbie style bakery. All the pink you can imagine. I started with the golden birthday cupcake and a latte. The latte was piping hot, so I had to let it cool down a lot before I could drink it. The cupcake practically melted in my mouth. I left with a brownie, a cinnamon roll, a cake batter cookie and a chocolate cookie to share with the fam.

Best Flat White Ever?

And here's a shot of the flat white in the running for the best I've ever had from Gospel Coffee. The fact that it was made by a super hot barista does not factor into how good it was. It just made me wish I lived in New Orleans so he could make me coffee on a regular basis.
