January Joys!

It seems like January went by in no time, which is unusual for me. Aside from the recap of how I'm doing on that 2025 bingo card, I wanted to share a few things that brought me joy this month.

Cadbury Eggs Are Back!

One thing you have to know about me is that Cadbury mini-eggs are my FAVORTE holiday candy. Maybe not favorite holiday candy, but favorite candy over all. Sadly, since they aren't available year round, I have to put them in the holiday candy category. I was surprised to see that they had made it back to stores in January.

Free Cookies?

What makes these free cookies so delightful to me is that they were being handed out to students on campus to promote student housing. Who am I to turn down this lovely bag of cookies from the nice young man who probably could go home once he handed out all of the bags? I'd rather assume that he thinks I look young enough to need campus housing, and not that he thinks I look old enough to have a child who would need campus housing.

Snow Days

I don't think this one needs too much explanation, but seeing as I can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen snow, this was a treat! Also being able to enjoy some downtime with nobody making demands on my time or kiddo's time was nice.

Stupid Deaths

This is one of my favorite board games. It requires no skill, only luck. Maybe a good memory. You're given various cards with a person's name and how they died. It may true, it may be false, and it's the other players jobs to guess which it is. All the while, you are having to beat Death (the Grim Reaper figure) around the board. If you guess correctly, you move forward (clockwise). If you guess wrong, Death moves forward (counterclockwise). If Death catches up to you, then you're out. Last player standing or to get to the end first, wins.

Kiddo's Concerts

One of the true joys of parenthood is seeing your kid thrive and shine at what they do. With both All-District and All-State Honor Choirs being this month, there were some long rehearsal days and lots of music in our lives. Things can kind of slow down a bit for us to figure out a rhythm for 2025.

Bring on the February fun!
