Side Quest: 3 Things I Like About Me

My side quest that I drew for this week was to write down three things that I like about myself. What better place to write them down than here?

I spent a lot of patio time and coffee time pondering this. Here are the three things that I came up with:

I love learning new things. This is why I made a square on the bingo card for the year to take some fun classes. From cooking classes, to craft classes, to lecture series, to podcasts and books ... I just love to learn new things. In a similar vein, I like trying new skills. Am I good at many of them? No, but I have fun trying them.

I love spending time with myself. This is something that I've always been good at :) As an introvert, I love being by myself. But at the same time, I also have no problem going places by myself. For the most part, I've had friends with very different interests from my own. There have been many times where if I wanted to go to an event, I would go by myself because nobody I knew was interested in going. Sometimes I prefer doing things alone because I can set my own pace and really do what I want.

I love helping others. Ever since college, I've always found a place to be a regular volunteer at. It started at a women's shelter in college, and has expanded to different groups thought my adult life. Aside from the whole volunteer aspect of it, I enjoy helping people in general. Whether they need a ride, need to borrow something, need advice, I love to help. I truly believe that what you put out in this world comes back to you.

And a bonus, just for fun ...

I always have 2-3 vacation ideas in the works. Self explanatory. I love to travel and want to make sure I have ideas at the ready.

So, let me turn this around for anyone who stumbles upon this blog, what is something that you like about yourself?
