Under the Sea Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day can be tough for some people when they are single. Not me, I've been single for so long that I'm used to being THAT person who goes to couples events by myself. I don't need someone else to entertain me, and I can engage in enough polite conversation with other people to get my fill of people. But for Valentine's this year, I bought my ticket and figured out my plus one later because this seemed too fun to pass up - Adult's Only Night at Blue Zoo!

For those of you who don't know, Blue Zoo is a small aquarium in the mall. For what it is, it's great. Kiddo and I love going to feed the sting rays and parakeets, and she likes letting the fish that eat your dead skin nibble on her hands. I had a friend who's boyfriend had to work, so she and I had a night of amazing fun while I friend-manced her with mall food court dinner followed by some aquarium fun.

Highlights of the night included a scavenger hunt, a couple of painting opportunities, the chance to get in the stingray tank, and some treats which included cookie cake and a candy bar from the candy shop in the mall. Check out these pictures of some of my favorite things we saw and did!

I highly recommend seeing if any of the places that seem more like kid places have adult nights where you are! Last year I went to an adults only night at our local children's museum for Cinco de Mayo that was a lot of fun. And the adult only Easter egg hunt was probably the highlight of my 2024. (Can't wait for this years!) If you can find friends to go with, great! But don't be afraid to go by yourself, because you can still have fun being around like minded people.
