What is the weirdest thing someone has said to you? Specifically, what's the weirdest thing a child has said to you?
While we were waiting to be seated at lunch on Sunday, my teenager told me my aura is like a cheesestick. What?
I asked for an explanation, because to be honest, I'm not sure exactly what she was going for. Her initial answer was "it just is." That's a non-answer ...
So I consulted my friends, who were equally as stumped. The general consensus was that it had to be a compliment because Rotolo's cheesesticks are delightful and arguably one of the best items on their menu.
I had to confirm, so I asked if a cheesestick aura was a positive thing. Kiddo said "yes, in a way". In a way?! What does that mean?!
I probed further, which led to kiddo laughing so hard while trying to explain. The explanation was that it's mostly a good thing, but cheesesticks have grease, which isn't a good thing. However, the grease helps you appreciate all of the good parts of the cheesesticks.
Kiddo told me that the grease is a metaphor for my flaws. And what while my flaws aren't necessarily good things, they give me something to learn from and help others to appreciate all of my good qualities. Still confused ...
I'm just going to believe that it means that people love me, and while I may not be the main course on the menu, I'm a main course in their hearts.
