WIA: Highlights

I know that I've usually been doing one thing a week on Sundays for this installment, but let's face it. I eat LOTS of good stuff that I just want to share. So unless I have lots to say on a particular place, I figured I could just do some quick highlights for you. So here's a roundup of some of the best things I ate this month that we haven't discussed.

Jed's: The Crawfish Cake Sandwich

Ok, so my mom and I had to rush to Jed's this month to get this because it was their "poboy" of the month. Seeing as we have told anyone who would listen to us that the crawfish cake's they serve as an appetizer should be put on a sandwich, we felt like we manifested this into existence.

Seriously considering starting an official petition to make this a permanent item on the menu. Not only is the crawfish cake delicious, and a nice twist on a seafood classic, their remoulade sauce is the best I've had.

Chime's: Spinach Artichoke Dip

I have to say, that Chime's has the best spinach artichoke dip that I've ever eaten. And I say that because I'm not a spinach artichoke dip fan, but I will willingly eat theirs. I find it more spinachy than artichokey and it has enough cheese that I can get lost in the flavors.

It's also served with friend bowtie pasta, which I think is super cool in its own right.

Umami: Salmon Roll Special ?

I wish I could remember what this roll was called. It was a special for the week, and even though I came in prepared to order something different, it caught my eye on the menu. The roll had shrimp tempura, jalapenos, something else I don't remember and was topped with salmon. It was SO good. If I see it as a special again, I'm definitely going to order it.

What I love about Umami is that one of their specialty rolls fills me up easily.

That's a quick recap for you. I just realized that I posted two things that are either off the menu or about to be off the menu, but definitely tell me what you think of the Spinach and Artichoke Dip from Chimes, or either of the specials mentioned if you've tried them.
